    About Brandon McGee

    McGee Law Firm

Brandon L. McGee is the co-owner of The McGee Law Firm. Brandon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Texas Christian University where he earned his B.A. in 1998. He graduated from Emory University School of Law in 2001.

After law school, Brandon moved back to Texas to practice law. This is where Brandon met his wife, Rita, who is a fee attorney for Capital Title. Brandon and Rita were married in 2005 and are the proud parents of twin “tween” boys.

Brandon can be found most Saturdays cheering and socializing at TCU football games. TCU Horned Frogs tradition runs deep in the McGee home and Brandon and Rita are raising their twin sons to be future Horned Frogs. Raising twin boys keeps the McGee home hopping. Brandon and Rita frequently spend time on the weekends running between tennis tournaments and baseball games.

Brandon spent the first few years of his legal career practicing as a trial attorney, litigating civil cases and divorces. As he worked with his clients through their life changes, he found himself doing more and more estate planning. But it wasn’t until the death of his father and a breast cancer diagnosis for Rita that Brandon realized that life is short, too short not to make a living doing something that you really love. After much reflection and prayer, Brandon realized his favorite part of his law practice was estate planning, elder law, and probate. So, with that realization, Brandon made the firm commitment to stop taking litigation and divorce cases and to only do what he loved best – Help Families.

Today, Brandon enjoys a successful law practice focusing on estate planning, elder law, Medicaid pre-planning and crisis planning, and probate. Brandon and his team combine legal skills with compassion and understanding to develop estate plans that are personalized to the needs of each of their clients. Brandon also believes proper estate planning goes deeper than just drafting the necessary documents, it includes building long lasting relationships with his clients. Because of this philosophy, Brandon is able to help in every stage of life. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is the only DFW member of the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.

    About Terrie O’Donnell

    McGee Law Firm

Terrie O’Donnell has been a resident of the DFW Metroplex for over 20 years, and is proud to call it her home. When Terrie and her husband, Andy, first moved to the area, it looked nothing like it does today. She has not only had the joy of watching her son Sean grow up, she has also watched the metroplex become what it is today. Terrie follows the old saying “I wasn’t born here, but I got here as fast as I could.”

Terrie grew up as a Navy brat where every other duty station was Naval Air Station Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up in Navy life, Terrie had the opportunity to live on Okinawa and to travel the Pacific Rim in addition to countless other countries and cities. Terrie believes her experience as the child of a Naval officer contributed greatly her to her ability to adapt to new environments and new situations. She also believes that she became an extrovert as a result of all the moves that her family made in her childhood. In other words, Terrie never meets a stranger.

Terrie and her family are frequent volunteers at Grace Bridge and active members of their church and the Baptist Student Ministry at the University of North Texas. She often volunteers in the children’s ministry to get her “baby” fix now that her son is grown. Terrie is regularly seen about town with her “furry daughter” Pepper, who is a red Doberman pinscher who has a personality that is as big as Texas. Pepper, like her mommy, has never met a stranger. This did become a problem when Pepper slipped away from a family friend that was watching her while Terrie and her family were away for a few days. Pepper re-homed herself with another local family until she was finally reunited with her very frantic real family.

Terrie has worn many hats in her life, from travel agent, Realtor, financial advisor, to stocks, options and commodities trader and trainer, but it wasn’t until she began a career in the law did she discover her real passion of Estate Planning. Terrie is a born problem solver, which she got to practice in her past endeavors, but it was Estate Planning that allowed her to help families plan for the future and help implement creative ways to make sure families are covered for all of life’s unexpected.

Terrie is a CORE Registered Paralegal and a Certified Paralegal. Terrie is among 3,242 paralegals in the State of Texas and 18,148 paralegals nationwide to have successfully completed the Certified Paralegal examination. She is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, Paralegal Division and DAPA (Dallas Area Paralegal Association). She also serves on the Paralegal Advisory Committee of Collin College’s Paralegal Program.

    About Lisa Sharp

    McGee Law Firm

Lisa Sharp was born and raised in Mandeville, La, a town just north of New Orleans. Lisa grew up next door to her grandparent’s farm where she enjoyed the best of both worlds, city living and farm life. Growing up in South Louisiana, she had the benefits of a large extended family and friends that were called family; those benefits included crawfish boils on the weekend and spending time on the water. Lisa moved to Baton Rouge, LA for undergrad where she attended Louisiana State University. It was here that she developed a passion for college football and the ability to bleed purple and gold.

Her degree in Political Science landed her a job with the Louisiana House of Representatives in the Docket Office where she worked through the time of Hurricane Katrina. After countless legislative sessions to get the state of Louisiana back on track, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an attorney. Lisa moved to higher ground for law school and ended up in Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma City University as a Merit Scholar. It was here that Lisa discovered Red Dirt Music and legal advocacy.

After law school Lisa wanted to live near family and decided she would move to Dallas where her brother lived. She had spent plenty of time in Dallas and thought it was a wonderful city and a great place to call home. She does, however, adamantly refuse to cheer for any NFL team other than the New Orleans Saints.

For the first six years of her legal career, Lisa worked in the area of family law. As she watched her clients adapt to major life changes, she grew to understand the importance of putting in place a proper estate plan. After the unexpected passing of client, Lisa helped her client’s family put the pieces back together with the estate plan Lisa had prepared. This became her catalyst to move away from family law and focus her attention wholly on helping families with estate and trust law. She understands firsthand the importance of preparing for the unexpected.

Lisa’s goal is to develop lifelong relationships with her clients, not short-term engagements. It is this common vision she holds with the McGee Law Firm to make estate planning, estate settlement and probate an easy, comfortable and enjoyable process to the best extent possible. Lisa believes the most important thing she brings to this whole process–besides all the education, training, experience and knowledge—is being a good listener and explaining things in a simple, straightforward manner without all the legal language and process that can be so confusing.

Lisa has four godchildren that she loves dearly. She is lucky that two live in Dallas and she gets to see firsthand as they grow up and hit life’s little milestones. As for her godchildren that live in Louisiana, she gets back home as often as possible to spend time with them.

Lisa loves to refinish and rehab old furniture. She enjoys figuring out how to modernize her finds, all while keeping the original charm and aesthetics of the piece. Often, Lisa has to frequently use her attorney skills to persuade sellers to accept her offers when the price is not quite right. Lisa is also an animal lover. She has a 7 year old Shih Tzu named Gracie Lou and an 8 year old Airedale named Holly. When not working, she is often found at the dog park or at yoga class. She is an avid reader and hosts a monthly book club.

    Education:
